Notification: Holiday Notice: Platform Remains Accessible

  
The AOSIS offices will be closed for the Republic of South Africa’s holiday season from 19 December 2025 and will reopen on 06 January 2026 at 08:00 AM Central Africa Time. The journal platform will remain accessible at all times, allowing you to submit your manuscript and provide any required input during the review stage (e.g., submitting your review or revisions) or finalisation stage (e.g., copyediting, proofreading). For urgent matters during this period, please contact the AOSIS Contact Centre. Please note that response times may be slightly delayed during the holiday period due to reduced staffing. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you this year. Wishing you a joyful end to 2025 and a fresh start to 2026.

Website Update: AOSIS Transitioning to CRediT Authorship Taxonomy

  

Starting in November 2025, AOSIS will begin using CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) authorship contribution statements for all new submissions and acceptances. Published articles reflecting CRediT statements will appear from 2026. Guidance is available under the Author Guidelines: Formatting Requirements, and all contributions should be disclosed in the Authorship, Disclosure Statements, Copyright, and License Agreement Form (Cover Letter) at submission or the Authorship Change Request Form. Following these guidelines ensures transparency, accountability, and integrity in the publication process.

In 2025, the inclusion of AI policies became compulsory for all SciELO SA journals. Authors using AI-assisted technology must disclose their use in manuscripts to ensure transparency, accuracy, and trust. Guidance is available in the Plagiarism, Fabrication and Artificial Intelligence Policy page and the Submission Guidelines under 'AI-assisted technologies' in the formatting requirements.
